our brand story

Better Way Branding was born from the idea that there’s a better way to help brands achieve their goals than chasing the latest viral trends. We believe authentic brands who root themselves in best practices are assured the best prospect of sustainable, long-term success.

With that focus in mind, our founder and CEO, Misty Ebel, set to work building her boutique agency, believing she could offer a better way of working. In her journey to build her own business, she soon discovered the unique challenges and hurdles faced by small and budding businesses.

As a veteran in the nonprofit space, she quickly realized these challenges mirror those faced by nonprofits. In both worlds, passionate leaders finds themselves wearing many hats, problem solving in areas where they have limited experiences, and always running short on time and money.

Inspired to build a brand that also built up others, Misty’s vision became to support small business and nonprofits—the backbones and change makers in their communities—achieve sustainable success through strategic branding and communications based on proven best practice.

Misty Ebel | Founder & Chief Strategist

A 20+ year strategic communications veteran, Misty strives to operate with integrity and lead with empathy. An insightful and intuitive strategist, she combines “big picture” vision with deep experience that allows her to go granular when needed to identify and solve for communication roadblocks.

Misty began her career in journalism before moving into marketing and communications roles in the public, private, corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her career has covered a lot of territory, including manufacturing, distribution, edu-tourism, service agencies and more. She has both built strategies and executed them at every level.

She has created print and digital content, managed website redesign projects, planned and executed social media strategy, managed crisis communications, engaged with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, managed event activations, developed and executed integrated fundraising campaigns, and planned print and digital advertising campaigns.

Now, as founder and chief strategist for Better Way Branding, Misty’s passionate to be working with small businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs to build meaningful connections through customized branding and communications solutions built around their needs.
